From New York, con amor: Former border residents raise money for Juárez

"Connected through networking, Urias and 14 other professionals with diverse backgrounds - including fashion, art, media and law - started meeting more than a year ago as Project Paz to organize a fundraiser that would benefit Juárez.

With the help from the local initiative Amor Por Juárez, the New York friends organized and had their first fundraising event, Project Art, last November. Artists in and around New York were invited to donate works that were auctioned as part of a cocktail party and fashion event at Industria Superstudio in New York City's meatpacking district.

The event raised more than $90,000, and most of it was donated to FECHAC (Fundacion del Empresariado Chihuahuense)."  [Read Full Article]
